On The Derrick Floor
In the Oil Field
Tubular products enabled with RFID identifiers can be scanned in and out of boreholes and during tallying and inspection. As recording stations capture every tubular that is tripped up and down the hole, the data can be used to determine the total exposure time and total depth of a tubular, and a variety of other critical information. Using this information, application systems can provide intelligent inspection models to service personnel, avoiding redundant inspections while at the same time assuring tubulars with an increased potential of integrity failure are inspected and repaired. These systems can also provide intelligent validation controls on the derrick floor, preventing tubular with improper inspection records, product specifications, or otherwise, from entering the hole.
Fusing the Product Identifier with the Application Data enables Process Intelligence that provides the ability to:
1. Retrieve Product Specifications in Realtime
2. Record Total Depth & Exposure Data
3. Validate Product Specification vs. Drill String Design
